AAAOD's mission is to study, design, develop and advocate for policies and resources that increase access and retention in treatment and prevention services for African Americans and other low-income minorities in South Los Angeles County. AAAOD members serve over 25,000 men, women and children annually and over 200,000 persons served since 1993. Services and treatment/intervention modalities include: outreach, case management, sober housing, in-patient, outpatient, day treatment, detoxification, aftercare/continuing care, employment services, prevention, education, training and leadership development, emergency and crisis and intervention, and health services
